What is OCIA?
The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults, or OCIA, is a process for formal initiation of new members into the Catholic Church. It is also for those inquiring about Catholicism and for existing Catholics to deepen their knowledge of the faith.

All are Welcome!
OCIA is a process of study, exploration, faith-sharing, and faith formation for seekers, inquirers, and those already established in the faith, as well as baptized but unconfirmed adults who desire full communion in the Catholic Church. During this process participants are introduced to the liturgy, the teachings, and the life of the Catholic Church.
OCIA is highly encouraged for Catholics who wish to grow in their faith. All are welcome to join in on our classes to grow in their spiritual faith with Jesus-- there is always more to learn!
One of our goals is to equip parishioners with a solid, living knowledge of the Catholic faith—so they can confidently witness to Christ in the public square, thoughtfully respond to their children’s hardest questions, and stand firmly in the truth entrusted to the Church when challenged by non-Catholics. This is not merely about information, but about formation: knowing what we believe, why we believe it, and how to live it with charity and conviction.
OCIA is an awesome Journey
OCIA is a process that proceeds over weeks and months. The learning process relies heavily on scripture and the catechism to not just understand Church doctrine and tradition, but to understand the Who, What, When, Where, How and Why of the Catholic church.

OCIA Team
Our OCIA Team is lead by Gene Taylor. Gene is a life long Catholic, Parishioner, Father, and Spiritual Leader. Gene and his wife Lora, our Deacons and their wives, Fr. Tony and Parishioners Pat and Edith Ewing create our core OCIA teaching team.
Team members share their faith with inquiring adults who are seeking more information about the Catholic Church, many of whom seek to celebrate one or more of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.
