Lenten Schedule 2026
150th Diocesan Anniversary Indulgence and Pilgrimage
An indulgence is a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt have already been forgiven.
The authority of the Catholic Church to serve as instrument of this gift comes from Jesus Himself;
the treasury of the satisfactions of Christ and the saints is communicated through the Church.
An indulgence is either partial or plenary according to the removal of either part or all of the temporal punishment due to sin.
We can receive indulgences for ourselves or for those who have died. The conditions for an indulgence: to be in the state of grace;
to be of a disposition of complete detachment from sin (not committing it, and not even wanting to);
Confession; Holy Communion; and prayer for Pope Leo’s intentions.
A period of several days before or after the actual gaining of the indulgence is allowed to satisfy these conditions.
Operation Rice Bowl Program Will Be Available This Lenten Season.
